Tampa Family Photography
Let me show you my favorite spots for headshots, senior photos and family photos around Tampa.
Hey Hey
Best spots for photos around Tampa.
Tampa is fun. It’s colorful and has lots of variety and history. Check out some of my favorite spots.
Featured here we have Willas, University of Tampa, Riverwalk, Armature works, Ben Davis Beach and Old Hyde Park. Ybor and Oxford Exchange are on my list for places I’d like to explore!
1. Tampa Riverwalk
Downtown vibe
The theater, the amazing architecture, lots of steps, a little amphitheater and the river! A lot of locations require that you shoot in the last 45 min before sunset because the light is too harsh before that. But if you have all these tall buildings around, you can hide in their shade and extend your shooting time.

2. Armature Works
Tampa
Even if you don’t take pictures here, you should visit Armature works! The shopping and food scene are awesome. But it makes a great photo backdrop as well! This location does require a permit and a fee, so we’ll need to plan that in advance to obtain that. (I fount this out the hard way! We only got a few photos in before we were asked to leave).
Oh so Cultured
3. Ben Davis Beach
Small but mighty
You don’t have to fight for a parking spot at Clearwater beach in order to get your toes in the sand. This little gem in Tampa doesn’t have miles of sand like the big beaches do, but that tall grass is what we are here for.

4. Willas
Coffee & Diner
I love this spot! Maybe because I love coffee, but it’s not just that! We have beautiful windows, a wall of greenery, adorable diner booths, some urban backdrops out front – and did I mention delicious coffee?! This location requires reserving certain weekday mornings, the rest of the time it’s hopping.

5. Hyde Park Village
As fun as you are
This lovely location has a fountain, perfect white wall (always in the shade cause it’s an alley), some greenery, brick paved road, and even a phone booth. Also popsicles.
Never disappoints
6. Orenda Photo Studio
Indoor studio Tampa
Shooting in an indoor studio is not my normal, but a branding client found this lovely spot and I can’t get over it! This old factory in Tampa has been transformed into a natural light (big windows) studio full of luxury. Many backdrops and props and plenty of light rolling in those big windows!

7. University of Tampa
a Classic
This spot is dripping with rich history. The wrap around deck steals the show and provides lovely shade. The beautiful architecture stuns, but I also love that we have some greenery and a fountain for variety. This spot is usually rolling in photographers and we have to watch out for college events as well.

CLIENT LOVE
“Whitney is the best kept secret in Tampa Bay! Book her while she’s available.”
Whitney worked with me to develop a vision, find the perfect spot, and deliver photos that, I kid you not, are better than my wedding photos
